HOMOCYSTINURIA

A mostly inherited condition.  The body absorbs and stores too much iron.

The iron can build up in some of the organs, especially the liver, and cause damage.

Early symptoms are tiredness, darkening of the skin, and just feeling off.    Later symptoms are more serious and show up as problems with various organs.

A Ferritin Test (Measures Stored Iron or “Iron Stores”) sometimes reveal numbers higher than normal.

It would be wise to seek out genetic testing and or other root causes if elevated results persist.

High levels can be reduced through venesection (Removing Blood), sometimes repeatedly
